PRO-TORQUE AUTO & TYRE CENTRE

Pro-Torque Auto & Tyre Centre opened its doors on the 10th of May 2004 as a service and repair centre, which specialised in all German vehicles. The business grew at a rapid rate and in 2006, began investing in new German tyre equipment in order to open accounts with all the well-known tyre manufacturers.

Pro-Torque became an extremely successful auto and tyre retail centre because we were able to perform all tasks under one roof, with an impressive turnaround time. However, in 2011 we were unfortunately forced to sell the Service Centre due to bad crime in the area.

We decided to turn a bad situation into something good, and ultimately began focusing on the tyre side of the business. A mobile tyre trailer was acquired, modified and equipped with the most advanced non scratch tyre fitting equipment. This mobile tyre fitment trailer now services fleet companies and track days where tyre fitment is required on demand.

Richard Taylor matriculated in 1996 and completed his Technical N2, N3 and N4 in 1997.

In 1998 he signed up as an apprentice technician with Mercedes Benz SA and served his apprenticeship (which was based on the new CB Modular level training) at Mercurius airport branch.

In 2002 he qualified as a Level 4 technician and stayed on at Mercurius Airport for the proceeding two years.

In 2004 he took a leap of faith and registered his very own business, which is now known as Pro-Torque Auto & Tyre Centre cc, originally based in Benoni.
